Hi, Chris here, and I am still basking in the afterglow that only a good show can give. And since it was my birthday yesterday, one can conclude that it was a good day! Admittedly we could have done with the stage being a bit bigger, but we can't really complain. Hehe... I guess it must be because I take up a lot of space!
The Rookies bar was also full up yesterday, and we are happy in the knowledge that despite the weather, a good amount of fans (old and new!) have made the effort to come and watch us play, and in the words of Diane as the set-list came to an end: 'Nistghu insiru hara issa?'
Brandon has settled in well with the band, and we really consider him a fully-fledged brother in metal who is bringing new ideas of his own to incorporate in our music. Despite the gig at Rookies being only his second performance with us, he played like a veteran, and I guess I was more nervous than him in the run-up to going up on stage. Nothing much to say about Raphael and Mario is there? I could tell Raphael was happy as he played like a demon possessed, not standing still for a moment...and Mario was his usual dependable self, putting all his fingers in the right places...ahem.
It is somewhat strange for me to think of Stillborn playing without a piano, but this has somewhat happily given us a harsher, meaner edge. Some of the grooves, especially on Angel, Broken Circle and Rites of Passage sound awesome!
On to other things, but no less important. Angel has now touched a total of 457 downloads. Unbelievable but true! The stats don't lie. Nearly five hundred individual addresses have shown up on our stat-tracker.
We can only be proud of this song, and we also feel that Elton at Freetime Studios has managed to capture the spirit of the tune well! Look out for more collaboration between Stillborn and Freetime in the very near future.
So...what's next? A new recording?
Hmmm...sounds interesting!

Jade calls it a day...
Unfortunately our erstwhile naughty keyboardist Jade, has decided to call it a day with the band.
Further studies are making it difficult for her to continue meeting up regularly, and here in the band we make it a point that rehearsals are an important part of our setup. Maybe a little into the future she can re-think her position out. In the meantime we wish her the best of luck.
So where does this leave us? Simple really. We have had a pow-wow, and decided to go on our way as we are, without a keyboard player. There are a number of reasons for this.
1. We are soon to be going out live again, as we awake from our winter slumber, and glory in the wildlife that is summer!
2. Training a new keys to our old songs is difficult. They are so complicated that it will take a lot of time to get to them.
3. We rather like the harsher, heavier sound we are producing.
So, this also means we simply have to remove Cross of Fire from our set-list. Pity, as this is my favourite track of them all....damn!
Talking about tracks, we have done cover versions of two beautifulclassic tracks, obviously 'stillbornizing' them in the progress....and they sound brilliant!
More on that later then...

First post.
We took our time in starting to write down our thoughts on a more regular basis. But here we are. Hope to keep you enlightened and entertained with our music.
